Max bringt meine Bedenken auf den Punkt. Dann muss ich wohl tatsächlich auf das iPad mit Retina Display warten, oder dieses komische Papier benutzen, von dem immer alle reden. Wobei ich natürlich auf einem Kindle keine Animationen oder Farben erwarte, aber zumindest eine gute Leseerfahrung, und dazu gehört für mich ein wirklich scharfes, kontrastreiches Bild. Wenn von E-Ink gesprochen wird, muss so etwas auch erreicht werden. Edit: Okay, nach diesem Meta-Review nehme ich die Schärfe-Bedenken zurück, mag Grau in Grau und billige Hardware allerdings immer noch nicht. Hier scheiden sich wohl ein wenig die Geister…

About ten years ago, one of the smartest, most brilliant writers I know died, leaving behind words that make me smile, think and just bow with respect for utter genius. This essay has been linked to quite a bit in the last few days, mostly because it so accurately describes the media’s attitude towards the Internet. He wrote that in 1999, and (sadly) it’s still true.
LordKain bringt sein Gesamtwerk zu einem überraschenden, aber sicherlich würdigen Abschluss. Auch er scheint von Skyrim unter Druck gesetzt worden zu sein, er hat die logischen Konsequenzen gezogen und Adash vorerst in sich abgeschlossen. Die Fortsetzung wird uns wohl in Form von Adash Online und einem mysteriös angekündigten “Band II” erwarten.

Das erste “Multimedia-Buch” das mir wirklich gut gefällt. Ich bin gerade erst mit dem zweiten Kapitel fertig, aber beeindruckt von der Qualität des Interaktionsdesigns, der Typographie, den Bildern und dem Konzept. Inhalt? Interessant, bis jetzt wenig wirklich neues, aber gut und eindringlich formuliert. The first interactive, multi-media book that I like. The interaction design is stunningly well done, the typography is more than bearable, the combination of text, pictures, videos and infographics works and above all, it’s actually fun to read. The content? Good so far, nothing particularly new. The subject is as important as ever.
